From Here to Eternity

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to move along from all the hearts, even if it's to shamrocks, chickens and bunnies that are poking up on the calendar. It's not that I'm a real curmudgeon, just we're both under the weather (what a silly concept, since it's sunny and 80s--absolutely glorious!) and it took a lot of effort to be all lovey-dovey.

Three Heart  Bijoux for

I met the love of my life 12 years ago Monday and it has been such a thrill! And while we were all so peachy over the weekend, we ventured out to spread our germs, er, ah, go shopping for meaningful exhibits of our love. Cards and flowers were bestowed upon me as were white chocolate-covered long-stemmed strawberries he made. Awww!

The man bears striking resemblance to "The Most Interesting Man in the World," has a resume to match the fictitious biography and when he drinks beer, he prefers Dos Equis. Dark.

Which is the perfect segue to the EIM theme for the week: Beer.

Beer
What we have here is Emilio Estevez in the grocery store pouting a beer on the floor from the movie "Repo Man," my modest attempt at recreating the logo from a Billy Beer can, a line drawing of a frosty mug of beer and a small portion of the lids from Dos Equis, which can be measured in pounds, that we just can't seem to part with. For the record, I stick to wine!

In between putting these images together, I knitted a swatch that I wanted to make for "sweater," the TwobyTwo challenge from last week. I just kind of eye-balled it and was surprised to find out that it indeed was a two-inch square! That's the most success I've had knitting a sweater ever!

That's what I have so far this week. I'll be back to doodling before the week is out, I'm sure. Thank you for stopping by.

Update 02.18.16: The link to this week's Zentangles is here.

  1. How wonderful that you met the love of your life. I know what you mean about valentines, fun for the day but now it's over and I am fed up with heart twngles, although your three bijou are lovely. Great result with the swatch., mine never come out as they should.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. Ah, my knitting has been a sore spot all my life--I can't seem to keep the tension right so I'll stick to scarves and little squares. Glad you like the hearts; they'll to be packed away until next year. YAY! c

  2. Oh do they still make billy beer? haven't thought of it in years. nice collection of inchies and I like your sweater. I always get stopped by the put 120 stitches on the needles step - I have trouble counting them once they're on and then I just melt into the confusion of trying to follow a pattern - I can make scarves - but that;s about it - I am crocheting a granny square afghan - actually 3 and have 234 squares done!

    1. I don't think so, Kia. I think Billy was around just long enough to give his brother Jimmy fits! That's quite the undertaking of those afghans; that's what I stick to as well--nothing to size just right. Good luck with that project! c

    1. Thanks, Free! Yeah, trying to mix it up a bit--it was part of this year's resolution to tackle the challenges with all the art supplies. We'll see how successful THAT is! c

    1. Hi, Sally! Billy Beer is an oldie but goodie--Poor Jimmy Carter's reputation as a God-fearing president was quickly tarnished with his brother canning his own beer. It was quite a hoot in the day. OOPS, showing my age, I guess, too! c

  5. Fun beer images this week. Glad you had a nice Valentine's day. Hubby made a nice dinner and I made the chocolate dipped strawberries with homemade whipped cream (just in case we didn't already consume enough in calories LOL). I'm a knitter as well and I love Elizabeth Zimmerman's approach. No swatch = it will fit someone LOL!
